We’re James and Catherine – a husband and wife team who made the decision to step away from the business rat race and build a life doing something we genuinely love: caring for dogs.

Dogs have always been part of our lives. Between us, we’ve owned and cared for a wide range of breeds over the years, and we understand that every dog is different – with their own personalities, quirks and routines.

We’re based on the edge of Minchinhampton Common, surrounded by beautiful countryside and endless walking routes. It’s an ideal setting for dogs to get proper exercise, fresh air, and the freedom to enjoy being outdoors.

At home, things are simple and relaxed. Dogs in our care are treated as part of the household – they can settle where they feel comfortable, whether that’s stretched out on the sofa or curled up on the rug in front of the log burner.

We don’t believe in overcomplicating things or turning dogs into something they’re not. Dogs are happiest when they’re allowed to be dogs – with clear boundaries, plenty of exercise, and a calm, consistent environment.

Our aim is always the same: for every dog to feel safe, relaxed, and content while they’re with us.

Whether it’s a walk, a day of care, or an overnight stay, we look after every dog as if they were our own. Dylan, our black Labrador, is always on hand to show them the ropes and make them feel at home.

Minch Dogs is fully licensed for home boarding and day care — we’ve been awarded a 4★ rating with Higher Standards. This is the highest possible rating for a new license holder, and we’re incredibly proud to be offering a safe, calm, home-from-home environment for your dogs.

We are licensed, fully insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained.
